PLAYOFF RULES (don't apply to Colt/Palomino)

GENERAL RULES:

  • PITCH COUNT LIMITS are same as regular season and DO NOT RESET at any point in or to start playoffs.   
  • NO "COURTESY RUNNERS" allowed in playoffs 
  • NO SUBSTITUTE PLAYERS ALLOWED (unless specifically approved by league)

MINIMUM PLAY RULES

  • Shetland, Pinto-MP, Pinto-KP - 1-inning of infield Minimum Play rule does NOT apply but other regular season rules do still apply. 
  • Mustang & Bronco - Regular season rule does not apply.  No player can sit more than two innings, and those innings cannot be consecutive.
  • Pony - Regular season rule does not apply.  No player can sit more than three innings and those innings cannot be consecutive.
  • ALL DIVISIONS - In the case of extra innings no player can sit consecutive innings

HOME TEAM STATUS

  • Shetland & Pinto-MP - Determined by coin flip prior to each game. Dugout doesn't matter.
  • Pinto-KP, Mustang, Bronco & Pony - Higher seed team until Championship Game.
  • Championship Games of double elimination brackets - Home Team is team from Winners Bracket.  For 'if necessary' games, home team alternates.
  • World Series games - Home Team is determined by coin flip for first game, then alternates in following games. 

RUN LIMITS:

  • Shetland, Pinto-MP, Pinto-KP & Mustang- 5/inning max first 4 innings, then 10/inning max after
  • Bronco & Pony - 11/inning max in any inning.  In the case of an over-the-fence home run to reach the runs per inning limit, all runs will count even if it surpasses the limit.

MERCY RULES:

  • Shetland, Pinto-MP, Pinto-KP & Mustang - 15-run mercy rule after 3 innings, 10-run mercy rule after 4 innings.
  • Bronco & Pony - 15-run mercy rule after 4 innings, 10-run mercy rule after 5 innings.

TIME LIMITS - No-New-Inning-After rules are same as regular season. THERE IS NO DROP-DEAD TIME IN PLAYOFFS

EXTRA INNINGS - CA Tiebreaker Rules will apply (see our Local Rules Tournament Section for details) in all divisions for games going into extra innings or going beyond the No-New-Inning time limit.

CA TIEBREAKER RULES:  Place the last out on 2nd base with no outs and play out the inning. Second and subsequent overtimes will require the offensive team to place last two outs on 2nd and 3rd, and play out the inning until a winner is determined. Start the inning with no outs.
